This is the first time I've used a digi image - but I found this one available for free download on Beccy's Place and fell in love with it. It was also a good excuse to play with my new promarkers - colouring in is so therapeutic - and if it's good enough for Ozzy it's good enough for me (Did I mention I've got OZZFEST tickets!!!!!) I'm quite pleased with the end result - next time I'll probably reduce it in size and jazz it up a little. She also has some lovely digi images of carousel horses - watch out for them spinning around here soon. The sentiment is from a brilliant set from Stampin Up - called Curvy Verses, the font is very small but you always get a clear crisp image.

Embossing
A 21st birthday card for my husband's cousin. The Allsorts challenge this week is to use Embossing, so I dusted off my light box and got out a couple of brass stencils and my chalks. The stamps for the backgrounds are by Dawn Bibby - from her Woodland Deer and Woodland Rabbits clear stamps set. The main image is a wooden stamp that came as part of a collection from QVC a few years ago, it was coloured using promarkers - which i wish i had bought sooner . Added a small key from my stash - she is 21 after all.
Challenges entered
Allsorts - Embossing
Donna's Den of Crafts - Sketch
Paper Sundaes Challenge - A birthday card
The Crafty Pad - Embossing
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Monochromatic and wings
Took ages doing this, made a huge mess as usual, (big sigh), my creation passed the mantle piece test (my own Quality control check) but still doesn't quite work in the photo, which is disappointing. But i had fun - and didn't eat any chocolate, so that's a bonus.

Childhood Memories
I bought myself some promarkers so had to try them out with some of my favourite stamps. These are from a set I've had for a number of years, I remember getting paper dolls as a little girl and I had to have them. Don't know if this set of foam backed stamps is still available but it is called Paper Pals with Georgia from Mary Engelbreit, All Night Media.

Happy Birthday
This was the first stamp I bought about 15 years ago - I haven't used it for a very long time so I thought I would pull it out from the bottom of the box. It is the PSX Birthday Cake - I don't know if they still make it. A soon as you see a photograph of your creation you notice all the faults, it seems to magnify them some how. Thought I'd measured and stuck the background with care, but the squares aren't quite true. Maybe next time. Entering this for the Allsorts Design Sketch Challenge and Donnas Den of Crafts 'Happy Birthday' Papertake Weekly Challenge - My favourite icecream pistachio. Once again the colours aren't quite true, think it's because I used the close up setting, which takes a picture without a flash and the light was fading. Lynda x

Father's Day
Two cards for two special Dads. The cards were made using Stampin Up stamps 'Something Sweet' their 1-3/4" circle punch, Sweet Treat Cups and the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the image with the stamped hole. Love this tool for positioning stamps in the correct place but I still managed to put the sentiment on wonky on one of them!!!! This is the first time I've used this stamp set and i'm really pleased with the overall result. Meant to buy some mint imperials - more appropriate for Dads in their seventies than little fizzies but I forgot, so I raided the kids sweet tin. Entered for 'My Time to Craft Challenge' Xtra special, 'Stamptacular Sunday Challenge' A tribute to all Fathers and Cupcake Craft Challenges. Lynda x

Butterfly kisses
I just can't help myself - but i'm going to have to get that ironing done and those reports written. This is my entry for
Sketch Saturday and Bunny Zoe's Challenge Nice and Girly.
I used a random collection of papers and a stamp from my QVC collection and it includes one of my other obsessions - Butterflies - you'll probably notice them sneak in now and then - but i'll try hard to keep it under control :) xxxx
The colours in the photo aren't quite true - so the pink ribbon doesn't quite look right - in real life the ribbon compliments the colour in the bear.

A challenging combination
A birthday card for Nan (my husbands grandmother) - she will be 92 this month and is a very classy lady. I designed it with a couple of challenges in mind. The Allsorts Challenge is to use lace and/or buttons. Searching for buttons brought back fond memories of my own Nana, i have her sewing box and would regularly sort through the buttons in it as a child. When i inherited the box it came with all it's contents, including the buttons. So these were hers - some had clearly been snipped from garments, she lived through the war and was always thrifty. These five mother of pearl buttons are all different and have a beautiful pearlescence. (Unfortunately this doesn't really show up in the photo.) They are sewn on with Avec metallic threads, the sparkle has been added with Papermania adhesive stones. There was no lace in the box, so I used a lace stamp - one of a large collection of stamps -mostly bought in craft kits from QVC over the last 15 years. This card is also being entered for;
Aday in the life of Renee - Pink and Crystal
For Fun Challenges - Happy birthday challenge
Thanks so much to Fleur for introducing me to blogging, it really has reignited my love for crafting and got me stamping again.

A design with punch.
A card made using a punch for the Sir Stampalot June challenge. A bit tricky, i only have a few small ones and most of them are linked to Christmas, got a long wish list of Martha Stewart ones though. The stamps used on the main image and the tag are from Dawn Bibby designs Woodland Rabbits. I used my Big Bite Crop-a-dile for the eyelets. i love it, a great tool.
A new project - my second challenge
A new entry for a sketch design using gingham or checks.(TrulyScrumptious design challenge) It's Friday night - another working week over, time for some fun. A world cup party tomorrow, my bunting is up, the cider is chilling and my challenge is to fill the England dip trays my husband got for his birthday. Each dish is a letter so that's seven dips!!!!
