Easter time

Just a quickie. I don't send Easter cards but I made this bottle label for my mother in law as we spent Easter Sunday at her house having a gorgeous lunch, our contribution was a nice bottle of wine! (But Paul enjoyed his beer more as he gave it up for lent.)

A new arrival for Easter

I made this baby card for a neighbour, I had to resist the urge to use the LOTV baby image and decided to try the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. The shapes and words were cut using this. I quite like the end result but I do love the LOTV baby. Back at work now - but sooooo excited about the Royal Wedding that I've hung my bunting and made some mini bunting for inside. Amber is mortified that I have hung bunting at the front with the image of the happy couple printed on it. Planning a cream tea to celebrate on Friday and perhaps a bottle of fizzy, lots of baking to do, hope the weather picks up again.

No card today.

Happy Easter

We're out to lunch at Grannies for Easter Sunday so Amber has made these place settings from a little kit I picked up from Morrisons. Amber's confirmation was last Sunday, the service was lovely and she looked beautiful and I was sooooo proud.

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.

Amber's confirmation

Well here it is - after a lot of deliberating and a little trip to Sir Stampalot I have finally made Amber's confirmation card. At last I have a new Tilda - suggested by the lady in the shop - there are so many to choose from but this works perfectly here and is a versatile image. She is decoupaged in shades of cream and is coloured with promarkers. The religious images are from another stamp set I picked up while I was there by Woodware - they are acrylic stamps from the Christian Celebrations set. I cut the backing paper with Martha Stewart punch around the corner punches (and I almost got the measurements right). The shape under Tilda is from Spellbinders beaded ovals and was embossed with a sizzix embossing folder. The pearls just give it that finishing touch. I think she will love it. It's going to be a special day, with grandparents and a godparent attending. She has a beautiful new Monsoon outfit, the dress has some colour coming up from the hem and Amber says it looks like she has sat down in a wet meadow!! We went to the rehearsal yesterday so we are all set for our service with the Bishop of Grantham on Sunday, or at least we will be when I've found her a suitable present and prepared a suitable feast for the occasion! Busy days ahead. Thanks for looking, please leave a comment, I love reading them. Lynda xxxxx

Yes another birthday the third this week

You will probably recognise this image as it is one of my favourites along with the Coco Chanel quote. This is such an elegant stamp - and although it is very 1950s if you walk along the high street every fashion collection has one of these dresses for Spring/Summer. This is for a special 60th birthday for a lady in our family. This is the third birthday this week and there's another at the start of next week. Still got to make that card and one for Amber's confirmation (which I'm struggling with, may need a trip to the craft shop). The stamps are Kanban, have embossed using the bigshot, border is a martha stewart punch, sentiment is cut with nesties. I really like working with these browns and creams, it has the elegant look I was striving for. Entering this for the April Stampalot Challenge Ladies and Fashion. When I saw this title I knew it was a good excuse to get this gorgeous stamp out again. Also entering for the Anything Goes Challenge - Pearls More soon Lynda xxx

Happy birthday Matthew

Matthew is 7 tomorrow he's having a sleepover tonight - small boys are exhausting!!! Within half an hour of his friends arriving he'd had a tooth knocked out whilst playing on the trampoline. Never mind, he recovered quickly, and it was only a baby tooth. I wonder if the tooth fairy will manage a visit with the room full of inflatable beds. He is football mad so this had to be the basis for his card. The footballer and cup are Kanban stamps, I put the cups onto shrink plastic - boy were those little ribbons tricky with my acrylic nails. The papers are from Patchwork Pals. Entering this for two challenges Bunny Zoes Crafts - One for the boys and Simon Says Stamp One For the Boys.

Easter hols are here :)

Another clutch of birthdays this week - good job i've broken up for Easter. Should be Spring cleaning but thought i'd start the week with a bit of craft. Its going to be a busy week, Matthew's birthday is on Thursday and Amber is being confirmed on Sunday. Their cards to follow no doubt. This card is for my future sister in law, the wedding is next May and I'm already thinking of a few crafty creations. Designed this for the Allsorts Challenge - Anything but square. The papers are Stampin Up, the large cupcake is from Cricut Wild Card, the chef is a squiggle stamp and the recipe is from LOTV. The Happy Birthday was printed using my new toy - the Xyron design runner - had this on my wish list for ages and finally treat myself. I think it will be brilliant for scrap booking - if I ever get round to doing any. Also entering for Paper Take Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes.

More posts soon.

Leaving Card

What a lovely day today. The house has been full of children playing between trips to the park. I've been crafting and listening to Lover Never Dies - I love musicals and Andrew Lloyd Webber is a particular favourite. The card is for a colleague who is leaving at the end of term. Used my Cricut (have I mentioned that I love it?) to cut the trellis. The butterflies and stamps on the front are Stampin Up, the butterfly punch is too. Used a Martha Stewart for the border and the sentiment in the middle is from LOTV. Just been looking at the new Stampin Up mini catalogue -lots of lovely goodies to put on my ever growing wish list. My craft room is bursting at the seams but there is always something new to tempt me.

Mother's day

The same basic design as in my previous post but in a different colour - I wasn't going to post it but it looks quite different in these colours. I made this one for my mother-in-law, I thought it might be a bit quicker as I was using my previous design but it seemed to take even longer. I kept losing bits under the mess on my desk and it was tidy when I started. Have just hoovered up the paper trail that was creeping out of my craft room across the landing and down the stairs! I find the little backing squares from my 3-D foam in the most unlikely places. Entering for Sarah Hurley Challenges - Mums the word & I love Promarkers - Emboss it Thanks for looking Lynda xx
